‘Alternate’ and ‘Foot’ assortments
A large number of our products (including all the coal-fired clink- ers) are manufactured as ‘alternate assortments’. That means that both the face of the brick and the reverse side of the brick may be used on the building face.
A ‘foot assortment’ refers to builds entirely constructed using the re- verse side to the brick. The technique highlights the rougher, more richly- textured rear surface, on which the indentations from the slats during the drying phase can often be seen.
