What are ‘Retro stones’?
During the firing process, these bricks are heated to such an ex- treme temperature they begin to melt. They are vitrified in a ring furnace, well above their sintering point, at temperatures between 1120 – 1140 degrees Celsius.
As the bricks melt, they lose their original shape and be- come so deformed they pro- trude at unusual angles.
When retros are included in a product mix they add drama and a distinctive 3D effect to the overall visual result.
Choosing to have a percentage of your clinker bricks manufactured as ‘retro stones’ will add a powerful liveliness and original twist to your project. The higher the proportion of retros you use, the bolder your design statement will be.
